The original Nintendo, aka: NES-001, Toaster, Front Loader, and just NES.
An easy mod is changing the LED to a different color, but I can also instal a color changing LED.
Single color LED $5
Color changing LED $7
Stereo and Overclock Mods:
These mods are explained in great detail in the Top Loader section. I've not yet done either mod to a toaster since no one has yet asked for those mods, so I have no pics. My only concerns for the mods will be where to put the red and white stereo jacks and the mixing knob.
Region Free Mod:
Another easy cheap mod, simply cut and lift pin 4 of the lockout chip.
$5 if i'm opening up the console to also do other mods.
$10 if this is the only mod i'm doing to the console.
$25 if you want a switch on it to change between original and region free.
I do NOT do any cosmetic work for the NES. I just don't have the talent or patience for such work.
However I am interested in tracking down a manufacturer for a clear shell replacement.
There used to be a guy on ebay selling them, but has long since disappeared and finding a new source has proven difficult.
Replacing the 72 pin connector is so easy anyone can do it themselves, but I do offer the service.
$10 if you supply new 72pin
I do not stock new connectors as i've never found one I truly trust to function more than a couple times!
Adding LEDs to the inside of the square controllers can light up the Nintendo logo as well as the A and B indicators.
$15 per controller for square pads, A & B and Nintendo logo LED lit.
$10 per controller for dogbones or max controllers, button indicators only.
Check out the youtube video of the LED indicators in action.
