Marshall says the fab finally sourced all parts and has started production!
Pre Orders are being taken now and kits will start shipping on or before Aug 6th!!!

Marshall says this last batch of kits suffered the same lack of solder in the hdmi connector mount holes as the last batch, but he’s going through them one at a time and fixing them. They will likely ship to me in a week or 2…
Kevtris says china has started shipping the next batch of 500 kits to him!

The kits from last pre order are done and with Marshall, he will start on programming and testing soon!
No word on when next pre order will happen, hopefully soon as well, i’ll let you know when!
In regard to the last pre order (Feb 16th – 20th)
Fab is finishing up the board production now and is expecting
completion on the flex around May 5.
I told the fab about the hdmi connector solder problem and they should correct it on the next batch. It didn’t seem to a be a big thing at first – I test all the plugs by bending the HDMI cable on them and did rework about 30% myself but the rest were fine. It seems the people who aren’t cutting out the HDMI slot opening correctly are going to definitely see problems since that will fail to provide strain relief. But it’s better to avoid that altogether.
Won’t be an issue on these next boards.
