This is the kit I make and use for adding a power LED to the nes top loader and av famicom.

Simply drill a 3mm hole in to the plastic under the red button and press the LED in to place, solder wires to power and ground and you’re set!

The wire soldered to the resistor is ground, usually the darker color of the pair.
